Favourite Find - August

Absolutely thrilled with this find, I originally picked it up as I was after some key pieces to take you from late summer through to autumn. This (what I thought was a 70's) western suede jacket ticked all the boxes.

As always when preparing my listing I like to do my research, I was delighted to have picked up a Jo-o-kay piece. John and Kay Simpler from Oklahoma started business in the 50's and are known for producing great quality leather jackets and coats. It's always hard to tell the exact era of an item, but by looking at the clothing label on this jacket it does look like it's a 50's piece. The design of the label changes over the years and this looks like it's one of the very first. Finding a rare 50's piece is like striking gold on my vintage treasure hunt.

It's such a timeless piece and I hope someone gets even more years of enjoyment out of it. See full listing here.

Favourite Find - July

My favourite piece from this months hand pick has to be these floral culottes. I'm a huge fan of the culotte style trouser I find them so flattering and not to mention unbelievably comfortable. This pair I picked up are in the most beautiful garden rose print. They are classed as an awkward length, which ironically I don't find awkward at all I love to show off a little ankle.

When preparing the outfits for photographing, I happened to have my Harry blouse at hand. I've had this beauty in my wardrobe a month or so now and I absolutely love it. As soon as I heard Alexa Chung was doing a collection for M&S I feared for my bank balance.

I was delighted at how pretty the blouse looked with these culottes. Rose garden floral is a very classic vintage print, but the simplicity of the shirt brings the look up to date and keeps it looking clean and fresh. The rose gold bag finishes of the look perfectly picking up the bronze tones in the print.

Island Life

This week I've been editing my holiday snaps and it's totally given me a case of the holiday blues. It's now officially summer - I wish it felt like it. I'm giving my ASOS Marketplace store front its seasonal makeover this week in the hope that it brightens things up.

I visited this island back in 2014. The island is simply beautiful so I knew I'd be spoilt for choice choosing my backdrop. Whilst cycling around the island I came cross an antiques store which had only just opened that week. Being a lover of both pineapples and vintage (some may say junk) there didn't seem like a better place to get a few snaps for my store front.

The place was full to the brim with weird and wonderful things. I'd have loved to bring some of the furniture home with me, or maybe I just need to relocate. My favourite item of all had to be this magnificent carnival float parked outside. Can you imagine the stories this would have to tell.
My favourite vintage find so far this summer took centre stage on this shoot. This glistening floral kimono is an absolute dream. The colours and the detail on the float complimented this outfit perfectly and created exactly the right vibes I wanted for this look. The Kimono is for sale and will be available on ASOS Marketplace this week. Watch out!

I'm literally sat in the airport writing this so its just a quick one as its almost time to board the plane to my favourite island. Very much in need of a 'Vacay'.

I'm blogging as I've packed in my suitcase some of my favourite vintage pieces I have handpicked for summer. I'm planning to do an on location shoot for my store front. If you follow me on Instagram you'll get a little preview.

My ASOSMarketplace boutique will remain open while I'm away but any orders placed will not be shipped while Monday 6th June.
